Welcome to the official website of the European Matsubayashi-ryu (Shorin-ryu) Karate-do Association (EMKA). The EMKA is a member of the WorldMatsubayashi-ryu (Shorin-ryu) Karate-do Association (WMKA).

The art of Matsubayashi-ryu was founded in 1947 by O'Sensei Nagamine Shoshin (1907-1997).

The heir of O'Sensei was Soke Nagamine Takayoshi Hanshisei (1945-2012), and the EMKA was created at his request.

The current head of the WMKA is Association President Kaicho Taira Yoshitaka (Hanshi 10th Dan).

Together with the World Matsubayashi-ryu (Shorin-ryu) Karate-do Association (WMKA) we are part of the world wide network of dojos carrying this art forward.
